Case study · AI workflow

Four hours of reporting, down to under one.

A recurring quarterly report took about four hours to assemble by hand. Now AI drafts it in the established format and tone, and a person edits and signs it off.

The problem

Each quarter, a stack of individual reports had to be read, summarised and rewritten into one standard document. It took about four hours every time.

What we built

The quarter's source reports go into one folder. One command reads them, pulls the figures and drafts the quarterly report into the standard template, ready to edit.

The result

About four hours down to under one, so roughly three hours back every quarter on this task alone.

How it works

It learned how the report is written

The builder was given previous quarters' reports, so its drafts follow the same structure and tone of voice. The output reads like the reports that came before it.

  • Figures are pulled from the source reports, not typed again
  • The draft lands in the standard template, ready to edit
  • A person reviews and signs off every report before it is sent

Where else this fits

Any report you write more than once

Recurring reports are everywhere: board packs, client reports, monthly commentary, funding reports. If the structure repeats and the inputs already exist somewhere, the first draft can be automated and your time goes into the judgement calls.

Built by our founder. Demo data shown, the organisation's name is removed, and the figures in the report are invented.
